Conservation Commission Minutes 5/15/12
CONSERVATION COMMISSION
Town of Monterey, Massachusetts
                                                                        
MEETING DATE: 5/15/12
Present: Richard Andrus, David Dempsey, Christopher Blair and Betty Pixley
The meeting convened at 6:00p.m.

Gelbard – 19 Lime Rock Lane – RDA - to install a propane tank within 60feet of the lake (D. Dempsey is the project manager)
Chuck Nelson was present to review the proposed project to install a propane tank within 60 feet of the lake.  No plans were provided to show where the tank would go.  The owners are hoping to put it on the right side of the house.  The project was approved as a N3 subject to the following conditions; install silt control structure before work begins.  Rake, seed & mulch.  Leave silt control until grass is ready to be mowed.

Wooley – 24 Blue Hill Rd – RDA – complete remodel including deck repairs and new roof (C. Blair is the project manager)
Enrico Hinz was present to review the project which is within 60 feet of a pond.  The project was approved as a N3.

Suttin – 52 Sylvan Rd. – RDA – relocate dock and boat area & address dangerous & damaged trees (T. Lovett is the project manager)
Craig Okerstrom Lang, representative for the Suttins was present to review the project.  Barbara Resnik, abutter was also present.  Revised plans dated May 14, 2012 were supplied to the Commission to show change in location of the proposed dock.  The project was approved as a N3 subject to the following conditions; exclude E5, 6, 7, 8 subject to a drawdown period, site visit.  The applicant is still waiting on Chapter 91 approval from the State.

For Discussion:
1.  Mail was reviewed.
2.  Minutes from 4/10/12 were approved as written.
3.  The Commission reviewed a request from the Bodnar’s at 11 Lime Rock Lane to remove 2 trees on their property at the shoreline of Lake Garfield.  The Commission wanted it noted that one of the trees does appear to be alive and healthy however they understand the owner’s concerns and will allow both of them to be cut down but the stumps must remain.
4.  The Commission reviewed the special permit amendment request for KSA (#10-06).  The Commission stated that the request did not fall under their jurisdiction.
5.  The Commission reviewed the special permit amendment request for Lombardo at 62 Worth Lane and approved it as submitted as a Determination of Applicability was issued in 2011 for this project.  The change in the pitch of the roof is of no concern to the Commission.
